“Art is either revolution or plagiarism.” – Paul Gauguin
Sculptureworks Ferguson, 830 S. Florissant, will host a “Year in Review Exhibition” for Paul Artspace, which is a contemporary art residency program located in the Florissant area on December 1st, from 7:00 till 9:00 p.m. The exhibit will show artwork from and celebrate, the artists who stayed at the North County Artist Residency, Paul Artspace in the last calendar year. As a part of the Paul Artspace exhibit, there is also a closing reception at Gallery 210 at UMSL earlier that evening.
The 2016-2018 Exhibit at Jeske Sculpture Park was a great success! Artists are coming to collect their artworks and sites are being prepared for the 2018-2020 show, the majority of which is coming to us on loan from Six-Mile Sculptureworks in Granite City, Illinois. This is a unique opportunity for Jeske Sculpture Park to build and strengthen regional partnerships with another local art organization. Bryce Robinson, curator for Jeske Sculpture Park, thinks the Ferguson community will appreciate and enjoy these artworks.
There is also a new Dog Log at Jeske Park, thanks to Phil Berwick’s collaboration with Nick Richie. Nick’s canine character “Bruno” invites neighbors to stop by and write something about themselves, their dog or their town. Even mentions of cats are allowed!
